The private sector is needed as an important contributor and stakeholder to advancing the Goals and we intend to play our part through our Cardiology Clinic. Our purpose is to deliver great solutions that address the most demanding health challenges and directly contribute to the success of the economy by improving the cardiovascular health of it’s citizens. XCC Ltd is committed to tackling the rising incidence of cardiovascular diseases which have arguably become the deadliest threat to the health of a population upon which the economy depends on to thrive.
XCC Ltd Priority SDG Contributions
As part of our Strategic and Tactical Assessments, we reviewed the various SDGs and came up with 4 Goals where we can make a particularly significant impact through our primary operations, and 3 Goals that we can contribute to through our entire corporate activities. We view the latter 3 Goals as natural positive effects of implementing our business mission, vision and sustainability.
SDGs we directly impact through primary operations are:-
* SDG-3: Good Health and Well Being: As a cardiovascular health clinic, we contribute to this goal by treating and preventing cardiovascular diseases
* SDG-1: No Poverty: We contribute to this goal by making people healthier. Healthier people are more motivated to be productive both to themselves and the society. We also tackle this by being an employer in our own rights of labour, both skilled and unskilled.
* SDG-8: Decent Work and Economic Growth: Healthier people constitute a healthier society. A healthier society is a more prosperous one
* SDG-12: Responsible Consumption and Production: Through our newsletters, trainings, workshops, seminars and resources aimed at creation of awareness on how unhealthy lifestyle choices affect our cardiovascular health, we contribute to this goal as more people will start to consume and produce responsibly which will have a net positive effect on the society.
SDGs we contribute to through corporate activities are:
* SDG-17: Partnerships For the Goals: Our goals can only be achieved when we work together with other business units, companies, departments and outlets.
* SGD-11: Sustainable Cities and Communities: Through our collaborations with other businesses and entities on various issues, we contribute to this goal
* SDG-9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure: By constantly keeping abreast of changes, updates and developments in our fields as well as technological advancements and making the necessary adaptations to stay relevant, we contribute to this goal.
While primarily focused on improving the health and well being of the people, XCC Ltd will in the process of responding to health issues, contribute to the achievement of all SDGs through its diverse operations and functions. Our operations will encompass a broad range of fields that will have impacts on several sectors of the society. Since the SDGs are integrated, we will actually in one way or the other, be extensively contributing to the achievement of all SDGs and not just the 7 Goals identified above.
Creation of Awareness
As part of our efforts at insuring the cardiovascular health and well being of the population, we have launched and created a track record of free trainings, seminars and resources aimed at creating awareness for the need to safeguard our hearts from these silent killers. We believe that with the right knowledge, anyone and everyone can understand how poor lifestyle choices damages their hearts and hence reduce the direct and indirect costs that sudden loss of lives to cardiovascular diseases has on the economy’s stability
