XCC Ltd Will Go Red For Women

Cardiovascular diseases are directly responsible

for 1 in 3 deaths among women each year.

And when you consider that this represents more than cancer, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS and malaria combined, you can easily see why the prevalence of cardiovascular problems among women is a troubling statistic.

But at Xabat Cardiology Clinic Ltd (XCC Ltd), we are confident we can reverse this trend because 80 percent of all cardiovascular issues may be prevented with the right education and lifestyle changes.

There is an urgent need to raise awareness that cardiovascular diseases is the leading killer of women, and we symbolise with the Go Red for Women initiative which aims to help women understand that cardiovascular diseases constitute the deadliest threat to their health and that they should take positive actions to lower their risk.

XCC Ltd will serve as a life long advocate of this initiative. We intend to be a relentless force for a world free of cardiovascular diseases:- a world of longer and healthier lives. Through our free trainings, workshops, and seminars as well as collaboration with numerous organizations, we will bring the tools that women need to live a heart healthy life right to their doorsteps.

It’s dangerous for our women to disregard or delay heart health care. And this is especially true during the pandemic, as symptoms of cardiovascular problems have increasingly become more subtle. In addition, hormonal changes that stem from early start of menstruation, use of birth control pills, pregnancy, and treatment from female related ailments may make the symptoms, progress and outcome of cardiovascular diseases in women different than what is usually expected. And because the peculiarities of cardiovascular issues in women are not well-known yet, women are more likely to be under-diagnosed and under-treated than their male counterparts.

As such, XCC Ltd sees the need to ensure all women have access to education about cardiovascular problems, heart attack and stroke warning signs, as well as proper, timely diagnoses and treatment when they present with symptoms – regardless of their age or background. Losing even one woman to any form of cardiovascular diseases is a tragedy that can be easily avoided.

As part of our efforts to achieve these objectives as well as encourage the Go Red For Women initiative, XCC Ltd:-

  • Raises awareness on cardiovascular diseases, the leading cause of death in women
  • Created and distributes the revolutionary Digital Blood Pressure diary to facilitate easy, location independent blood pressure monitoring.
  • Partners with other organisations and medical professionals like gynecologists and obstetricians to maximize the chances of identifying women at risk.
  • Runs many campaigns as well as distribute materials in the media, public areas, shopping centers and other hospitals to educate and empower women with the knowledge and the tools needed to prevent cardiovascular diseases.
  • Offers ongoing health coaching, screenings, regular health testing and expert nutritional advice
  • Organizes activities and challenges to motivate and assist women in reaching their individual health goals.
  • Recommends a healthy lifestyle and calls on women to take better care of their hearts
  • Points out the need for healthcare professionals to increase focus on cardiovascular diseases as they affect women
  • Supports and encourages more research and studies into gender-specific heart health issues
  • Appeals to policy makers and governments to include cardiovascular diseases in women in their health agenda

While we’re passionate and dedicated to ensuring our efforts yield fruits, we can’t do this alone. The individual woman’s assistance is every bit as critical to success as XCC Ltd’s actions and we encourage you to play your part by:-

  • Being self aware.
  • Learning your risks and the warning signs that all isn’t well with you.
  • Taking care of your heart
  • Quit smoking
  • Exercising regularly
  • Organising and participating in other healthy activities.
  • Eating healthy which entails eating less of carbohydrates, processed foods and sugars and more of lean proteins, fruits and fibre.
  • Going for regular tests and checkups
  • Contributing to health research by sharing your experiences or participating in studies, surveys and focus groups

Ultimately, XCC Ltd will Go Red for Women® by pulling no punches in our efforts to increase women’s heart health awareness and preempt changes that improve the lives of women globally. By focusing on education and enlightenment, we collectively take significant strides towards maximising the quality of our lives.

We call upon women worldwide to harness their energy, passion and power to wipe out cardiovascular diseases. XCC Ltd believes that together, we can help save more women’s lives today. The time is short and it starts now.
